Check the strap and hardware together

Measure the hardware opening and check the strap passes through without bunching. Compare thickness, edge finish and the way the strap folds through an adjuster. For a shoulder strap, evaluate feel with the intended padding and attachment. Ask for a sample and compare it with the actual components before confirming production.

Record the hardware slot and stacked thickness

Provide the clear internal width of each buckle, adjuster or ring, preferably with a dimensioned drawing or a photograph beside a ruler. Show how many webbing layers, folds, pads or binding layers must pass through the hardware. Check the sample as the complete stack, because a single flat strip may fit while the sewn return does not.

Define the edges, folds and stitching

Explain whether the strap should lie flat or fold, where the cut ends will be enclosed and where seams may be placed. Add close photographs of the required face, reverse and edge appearance. If you already have a stitching layout, mark the stitch position and the number of layers so the sample can be reviewed in the same construction as the finished bag.

Approve the sample against the finished assembly

Fit the sample to the actual hardware and bag construction. Check passage through the adjuster, movement under normal handling, alignment, finished width, stacked thickness, colour, edge appearance and seam position. Record any requested revision and retain the approved sample with the final dimensions, rather than approving from photographs alone.

Prepare a clear sample request

Send the intended use, material preference, width, thickness, colour, estimated quantity and reference images. Include any performance requirements already specified for your finished product. Confirm sample availability, cost and lead time for the individual request.

Frequently asked questions

Can I customise the width and colour?

Include the target dimensions, colour reference and order quantity in your enquiry. Available constructions and feasible specifications are confirmed for the individual request.

Where can I find relevant products?

Browse the related products below and include the selected product in your sample or quotation request.

Which hardware measurements should I send?

Send the clear internal width of the buckle or adjuster, the webbing width and thickness, and the number of layers that pass through the slot. A dimensioned photograph of the actual hardware is useful.

How should I approve a bag-strap sample?

Assemble it with the intended hardware, padding and seams, then check adjustment, folds, edge appearance and dimensions. Record the approved construction and any revisions before production is discussed.
